Children’s Blessings project (formerly Baby Basics) is a successful and well used service currently based at the Western Area Community Centre in Silverdale Place, Newton Aycliffe and delivers support to the poorest and most disadvantaged parents, babies and children in Newton Aycliffe. The project will provide the essential items needed for a new mum-to-be to take into hospital (if applicable) as well as essential items of clothing and toiletries to ensure that the new baby is given the best possible start in life. With the help from Children’s Blessings parents are able to keep baby clean warm and fed.
For further information Contact Sheena Stephenson on 07594 297462.
Our role is to process the donations as they come in and to pack up lovely parcels of clothes, Moses basket starter packs and other items ready to be taken out as gifts to families in real need.
With support like yours we are able to help even more people that didn’t know where to turn in their hour of need.
Here are some quotes from women who have received things from Children's Blessings…
‘It made me feel happy, it was like somebody cared.’
‘My baby must matter because the basket was so full of lovely things.’
‘I had nothing and nobody and you showed me you care about me and my baby.’
